The Matteotti fountain in the

16th Vienna district: It is located

in the Sandleiten Residency,

which was constructed in 1928.

The installation was located in this fountain from 03 to 21-Jun- 2016 as a part of the ‘SOHO in Ottakring 2016’ event.

The installation consisted of four

large tarpaulins, which showed

the process how micro plastic

finally winds up in the human

food chain - the floating PVC

bottles indicate, how the plastic

gets into the global water bodies

Students of the Vienna School of

Arts deploy PVC bottles into the

Matteotti fountain. The bottles

were collected by them and

neighboring residents to

demonstrate the problem caused

by plastic waste.
